Ruffles & Ribbons
I love details, all the little details in my parties. I know that most of them go unnoticed but I can't help it, I love it. For instance these little purses. Yesterday I posted part 1 of the Ruffles and Ribbons party and this was the first picture
yes, it is a beautiful picture. The lake background is amazing, the flowers in the little Blumeboxes are adorable (and yes I ruffled two purple crepe paper together to make the ombre look) but my favorite detail on the table, the purses. I made each little girl their own purple ruffled purse using amazing fabric from www.rufflefabric.com and it made these purses so easy to put together. I also made the little flower on each bag that is actually attached to a hair clip for their hair. The invitation did say, "Join us for a little R & R, Ruffles and Ribbons of course" so I stayed with the R & R part and added little spa related items in each purse, pedicure kit, princess face mask, etc. The purse IS sitting on a doily that I spray painted purple.
The purple runners were a very inexpensive purchase on Amazon and I added two little ruffles to each end
Do you remember the purple ruffle ombre cake from the invitation, OF COURSE my five year old wanted a pinata to look like that. I was going to attempt it from scratch but was running out of time so I did the next best thing, I found this pinata online
and after removing most of the tissue/crepe paper and using a little tissue paper and glue I created this
The kids had a blast "smashing" a birthday cake
We put up a small white tent to provide a little shade from the sun and to create the spa feel I used the purple ruffle curtains from my daughters bedroom and pinned them up to each corner, I LOVE easy and free decor!
Above is a close up of the curtains, my sister-in-law Marnie and niece Alexis (amazing helpers) and my three girls wearing custom dresses that their Aunt Jenny made for them. Do you notice their cute headbands? The headband is actually from Lululemon and I attached an adorable flower from Ribbon Revelry, aren't they adorable!
I had the headbands under the spa tent for each girl to pick their own.
Those weren't the only headbands in our house that day, mommy needed her own special headband and outfit. I called two of my good (and very talented) friends to help me out. Laura from Skylar Raine made me an adorable headband and ring and Aimee from AB Handmade made me an aproness, is it an apron, is it a dress, well, it is so cute it can be both!
There was also a station under the spa tent for each girl to make their own necklace, which takes extreme concentration!
and lastly under the tent was my favorite station, the nail station. I posted a while back how I found this old liquor case at a garage sale for $5.00

And turned the outside into this
yes, there is an assortment of purple (ombre) nail polishes, purple nail polish remover and a little ruffle fabric from www.rufflefabric.com inside. I filled the drawer with cotton balls and the shot glasses with nail files and body glitter. The girls had a blast painting their little nails.
I will end this with two of my favorite pictures, this one is the reaction that I got from my 5 year old when she opened her present
and this one from my family, hoping that you enjoyed our party pictures as much as we did
Oops one more, this was an idea inspired from Pinterest, and for those of you that are wondering if the dying of the pasta is possible, I am hear to tell you, YES it is, Purple Ombre Pasta Salad, LOL
